Maine Audubon takes a comprehensive approach to helping the people of Maine become more informed and effective stewards of wildlife and habitat.
Maine Audubon has eight sanctuaries and visitor centers around the state; the largest, year-round center in Falmouth serves 100,000 people each year in the greater Portland area. Offering camps and educational programming for children; trips, speakers, and classes for adults; community science opportunities to contribute to scientific research and progress; and grassroots advocacy initiatives to help shape wildlife-friendly public policies. www.maineaudubon.org
As the third-largest national industry and the largest in the state of Maine, the food industry estimates more than 60,000 additional chefs will be needed each year in the United States. SMCC’s Culinary Arts program offers instruction in food preparation and service to supply these demands. It is the only post-secondary culinary program in Maine certified by the American Culinary Federation.
The Travis Mills Foundation supports recalibrated veterans and their families through various programs that help these heroic men and women overcome physical and emotional obstacles, strengthen their families, and provide well-deserved rest and relaxation. The Foundation was established by U.S. Army SSG (Ret.) Travis Mills.
